{Sugar Bee} Magical Unicorn Baby Shower Cookie Set
Yesterday a mama-to-be had a magical baby shower to celebrate the upcoming arrival of her baby girl, Olivia. To accompany her special day, I created a set of delicious and adorable unicorn themed cookies. To say I was excited to make unicorn cookies would be an understatement.
There is just something about unicorns that are so fun and mesmerizing.
They are just full of glitz, color, and magic!
When I was designing the set, I knew I wanted the color scheme to consist of pretty pinks, purples, blues, and accents of gold. Since the theme is of unicorns, I of course wanted the main designs to be a full unicorn and a unicorn head. However, because the party was a baby shower, I thought it was important to feature the baby's name and include the word "baby". So I used my unicorn name plaque to highlight Olivia's name, and a cute heart shape to feature the word "baby". Lastly, I wanted to create a pretty floral design that featured a gold unicorn horn because I think that flowers just compliment unicorns so nicely....and who doesn't love flowers, especially at baby showers.
This cookie set was absolutely one of my favorite sets to create and I hope that everyone loved them as much as I loved making them!
Congratulations to the mama-to-be, I hope you had a magical day! Here is to lots of love and best wishes on the upcoming arrival of your new bundle of joy.

{Sugar Bee} Charlotte Bear Turns 1
A "beary" sweet girl is turning 1 today and I can "bearly" contain my excitement for her and her family who are celebrating with what I know will be an adorable and memorable birthday party!
When Charlotte's mom asked for me to make cookies for her party, I was so honored and so delighted to be a small part of her little girl's special day. I was even more thrilled when I was told the party theme. Charlotte's parents call her "Charlotte Bear" and they wanted to have a bear themed party with cookies inspired by my Mama Bear cookie set I did this past year. Well I absolutely loved that set and I thought that it was such a cute and original party theme!
I had so much fun designing this set! I knew that the bears would be the main designs and would feature Charlotte's nickname. I also wanted to feature the age she is turning, so I created a few cookies that highlighted a "1". They are all so cute, I can hardly pick a favorite. I just really love how this set came together and I hope that Charlotte and her family enjoy them even more than I enjoyed making them!

{Sugar Bee} Back to School Sugar Cookies
Can you believe it? Summer is over and school is back in session this week! My kids are so excited to go
back to school to see their friends and meet their new teachers! But, at the
same time, they are also so sad that summer is over and they can no
longer stay up late and sleep in….not to mention they know they will
soon have to do the dreaded homework! I for one can say I am thrilled
for the school year to start and I am ready to help my customers get off to the "write start" with my back to school cookie collection!
This year I wanted to create a traditional collection consisting of the quintessential supplies and imagery that are often associated with school and teachers. Even more I wanted a set that could be personalized for both the teachers and the students.
I am certain that this set will make the first day of school a lot sweeter for the teachers and students who receive them!

{Sugar Bee} Bee-day Cupcakes to Celebrate Turning Three
A little girl celebrated her third birthday with lots of sweet treats yesterday! Not only did she and her classmates get to enjoy some BEEutiful sugar cookies, they also got to have bee-day cupcakes! These cupcakes were made with chocolate cake and topped with a delicious and creamy buttercream frosting and decorated with a white chocolate beehive and two little bee sprinkles. What a great way to celebrate!
Happy Bee-day to a sweet little bee who turned 3!
{Sugar Bee} A Sweet Little Bee Turns Three
Yesterday a sweet little bee turned three and to celebrate, her mama ordered adorable bumble bee cookies to share with the birthday girl's friends and classmates. When I was contacted to make this set I was super excited because I love little bees (hence the name of my business). I have also been dying to use the little bee sprinkles that Wilton makes and this was the perfect occasion to use them!
Since the mama bee planned to give each child a set of two cookies as a little party favor, I made sure that the collections was comprised of two different designs so that every child received the same two cookies. My first design was made using my number 3 cookie cutter. I just love highlighting the age of the birthday child! I created a honeycomb pattern to resemble that of a hive and drew a little path to appear as though the bumble bee was moving. The second design was made using my mini bumble bee cutter. I thought that this cute little bee would look so cute next to the honeycomb number three cookie! Finally I packaged the two cookies in a little bag and tied it up with black and white twine and a coordinating tag....these cookies were all ready for a bee-day celebration!

{Sugar Bee} Lemon Blueberry Cupcakes
Yesterday we had so much fun celebrating Independence Day with our friends and neighbors. Nothing is better than surrounding yourself with amazing people while watching fireworks and eating delicious food! This year our neighbors hosted the 4th of July BBQ and I didn't want to arrive empty handed, so I decided to bake some cupcakes to take with us. When thinking of what I wanted to create, I knew I wanted them to be light and have a summer feel. The first thing that came to mind was a lemon flavor, but then I thought adding blueberries would be the perfect addition because not only do they compliment the lemon flavor well, it added a touch of white and blue (which was as patriotic as they could get without me adding another ingredient, thankfully my neighbor brought a red and white dish that looked great next to my cupcakes!)
Let me just say that these cupcakes were so delicious! The lemon blueberry cake had the perfect amount of lemon flavor and the bites of blueberry just blended so nicely on the palate. The lemon cream cheese frosting garnished with lemon zest and a single fresh blueberry complimented the cake so nicely. Eating these sweet treats at the end of the night while watching fireworks made for a perfect 4th of July celebration!
