{Party Bee} Client Feature: Marcus is 3! Hot Air Balloon Party

I recently had the pleasure of designing a party collection for my cousin's adorable son, Marcus, who just turned 3. My cousin told me that Marcus loves hot air balloons so she wanted that to be the theme of his party. So I created a printable collection that blew him up, up and away! Lucky for me, my cousin shared a few pictures from his party!

My cousin created a lovely dessert table that was full of cupcakes with toppers, water bottles with labels, juice boxes with wrappers, and coordinating party hats. I also love all of the clouds she made that were hung on the walls!

She created a table for all the kids to sit, eat, and play. I especially loved the placemats against the polka dot tablecloth!

But I think my favorite part of the party was the hot air balloon photo booth she created! How adorable is that! Here is the birthday boy posing in the hot air balloon. Just too cute!

{Party Bee} Gabby's Criminology Graduation Party!

This past week my good friend, Gabby, graduated from ASU with a degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology. I am so proud of her and all her hard work over the past five years and when she asked me to help her with her graduation party I excitedly said YES! Her ideas for a criminology themed party were just too fun to resist and the outcome was pretty awesome.

It was important to use a criminology theme but still incorporate ASU and graduation into theme. So we added touches of maroon and graduation hat graphics. But we mostly went all out with the criminology theme using "caution" tape as the main item of decor.

Gabby's good friend made her delicious tiered cake and we topped it off with a 2014 cake topper.

It was a lot of fun coming up with names for the items on the dessert table, though I did have a little help from Spaceships and Laser Beams (they have great ideas on how to throw a detective party!). A couple of the treats we served were "double agent donuts" and "sinfully sweet chocolate covered Oreos". Those were nabbed quickly!

I also created "crime scene cookies" using the letter G for Gabby with graduation caps! I thought these turned out really cute.

Evidence bags were created to use as take home bags for the guests to use to package their treats.

Dove chocolates and Hershey Bliss chocolates were the perfect combination to represent ASU colors and they were delicious too!

Water bottle labels and soda bottle labels were created to make the "secret agent H20" and "Sweet Justice Juice". I love how the juice added a little extra pop of color!

The centerpieces were a lot of fun to make and they were super easy! I just used a glass vase and a little caution tape and the tables were beautifully decorated! We also incorporated photos of the graduate to personalize the decor.

We wanted to add some more fun to the party by having all of the guests fill out a fingerprint message card. Here they got "booked and finger printed"...well they just had to leave one fingerprint and a message for the graduate.

I think one of the most fun aspects of the party was the mugshot photo booth! All of the guests were able to dress up like smooth criminals and take some hilarious photos. Here we are with the graduate!

The mugshot sign was a great prop as it added the party information to the photo!

Gabby even had a signature drink called, "Rookie Blue", which was a Blue Curacao Margarita. Mason jars are just the cutest glasses to use and make adorable party favors too if you don't want to keep them to reuse again!

What a great party! Not only was it a lot of fun to create but it was even more fun to attend!

{Queen Bee} Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week! What a wonderful opportunity to let your children's teachers know how terrific and special they are for all that they do everyday for your kids. Teachers are truly amazing and should be honored and given gratitude by everyone, especially their students...but most importantly by us, the parents. Therefore, it was important for me to prepare a nice and thoughtful gift for my son's teachers and teacher aides to thank them for helping my son learn and progress so much throughout this school year.

 

So I created a mini printable collection that is comprised of tags, Hershey Nugget wrappers, and of course a thank you card (and with a little assembly the card can be created to include a gift card to a favorite coffee shop)!

Take the time this week to give a thank you to all the teachers you know! It is also not too late to buy the Teacher Appreciation Collection to create little special gifts....you have all week to give thanks!

{Party Bee} Jake & Ava's Rootin' Tootin' Cowboy Birthday Party

Another year has flown by and my babies have grown a little older, taller, smarter, and more beautiful than ever! To celebrate my wee ones growing another year older, my husband and I decided that we would throw both of our kids a joint birthday party with a cowboy theme! We decided upon the theme because it is a classic, it works for both genders, and it is just plain fun (and I had the same theme when I was in the second grade)!

My first decision when creating the printables and decorations was determining the colors and patterns. I chose red, black, and brown/tan because they were gender neutral and are colors typically found in western themed decorations. The patterns, paisley, cow print, and gingham, are typical of farms/cowboys and were easily accessible (which is very helpful). The part that I loved most about the theme was that nothing had to be "perfect" as it was to look more rustic and weathered which was nice when I realized my printing wasn't exactly how I wanted it and my cow print wasn't all exactly the same or precise! Definitely took some of the pressure off since I am just naturally a perfectionist.

Because the party was for both of my kids, I had to personalize the printables, food, and decorations to include their initials and ages. I wanted to represent each of them individually yet equally, but also together as the party was indeed for the both of them. Therefore, I created cookies in the forms of 2's and 4's, painted paper mache letters using chalkboard paint (so they can draw on them after the party), but the cake was for the both of them as well as some of the larger printable designs.

A fun element of the party was coming up with fun and clever names for all of the food that fit with the theme! One of my favorites was "Happy Trails Mix"!

Also, for mom's who aren't confident in their baking/decorating skills, cow print is the way to go! All you have to do is start with white chocolate covered Oreos or white icing on sugar cookies and then add different shaped globs...precision isn't required and in fact the less precise the better!

Putting up signs printed on Kraft paper was so much fun! They were not only helpful in identifying the tables, but they were additional items that carried on the cowboy lingo.

Mason jars at a cowboy party is a must! They not only look so cute, but they are reusable so it helps reduce the amount of trash! I also attached little tags with jute twine so that guests could write their names on them.

The children's tables had place settings in the form of coloring pages purchased from an Etsy seller. Along with the coloring page, each child received a juice box, party bag, Sheriff's badge, a cowboy hat, and a scarf!

My husband and I came across this amazing bounce house online that offered something for almost all ages and it kept with our theme! The kids had tons of fun on it!

I have always loved photo booths at parties as it is fun for the guests and it leaves the host with many memories!

Our little buckaroos loved their party, but trying to get a photograph of the two of them together proved  to be a little difficult!

One thing we always like to do is dress according to our theme! Not only is it just fun to add a little costume to the party, but it makes for fun family photos!

They were smiling from ear to ear all through their party, I think they had a rootin' tootin' time!

Unfortunately the day was quite windy and we couldn't light the candles, but they pretended pretty well! Besides, all they really wanted was the cake!
