{Healthy Bee} Lemon-Garlic Shrimp & Vegetables
I don't know about you, but I am always looking for recipes that will satisfy the entire family and when I come across one it is like striking gold and it instantly becomes saved in my recipe holder! I recently struck gold when I made Lemon-Garlic Shrimp & Vegetables on Linguine for my family. Not only did my husband like it, but my one year old son devoured it!
I found this recipe on the Eating Well website, and although I do have a subscription to the magazine, it is nice to be able to go back and search their online archives and look for new and different recipes at my convenience. This dinner generously serves four and only takes about 35 minutes to make. Quick, easy, delicious, and nutritious! What else could you ask for?
Lemon-Garlic Shrimp & Vegetables
(From EatingWell: March/April 2008)
Ingredients:
4 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil, divided
2 large red bell peppers, diced
2 pounds asparagus, trimmed and cut into 1-inch lengths
2 teaspoons freshly grated lemon zest
1/2 teaspoon salt, divided
5 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound raw shrimp, (26-30 per pound), peeled and deveined/ frozen shrimp will also work
1 cup reduced-sodium chicken broth
1 teaspoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Preparation:
1. Heat 2 teaspoons oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add bell peppers, asparagus, lemon zest and 1/4 teaspoon salt and cook, stirring occasionally, until just beginning to soften, about 6 minutes. Transfer the vegetables to a bowl; cover to keep warm.
2. Add the remaining 2 teaspoons oil and garlic to the pan and cook, stirring, until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add shrimp and cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Whisk broth and cornstarch in a small bowl until smooth and add to the pan along with the remaining 1/4 teaspoon salt. Cook, stirring, until the sauce has thickened slightly and the shrimp are pink (or unfrozen if using frozen cooked shrimp) and cooked through, about 2 minutes more. Remove from the heat. Stir in lemon juice and parsley. Serve the shrimp, sauce, vegetables over linguine, quinoa or brown rice. Enjoy!

{Party Bee} Client Feature: Brayden's 1st Birthday Party
I am very excited to share a wonderful party that my friend, Molly, recently threw her son, Brayden. The birthday boy turned the BIG-ONE and what a special and fabulous 1st birthday party it was. Molly did a fantastic job with the decorations and details of this party. Using the Sugar Bee Bungalow's Sock Monkey Collection, she put together the decor incorporating yellow into the red and brown color palette. The results are absolutely stunning!
The food table looks so fun and colorful with red and yellow tissue poms hanging from the ceiling, coordinating serveware, and of course sock monkey menu tent cards.
I love how she flanked the banners with red bows. The pop of color really adds so much!
Molly did a lovely job organizing the dessert table. The table is so clean and festive. Also, what fun cupcake towers!
Kudos to Molly for creating such a cute smash cake. She made the cake herself and ordered the fondant pieces from Parker's Flour Patch Shop on Etsy. It looks spectacular!
Another homemade item from Molly, chocolate cupcakes topped with the sock monkey collection paper cupcake toppers.
Chocolate covered Oreos and sugar cookies from The Sugar Bee Bungalow.
Another pop of color using red and yellow M&M's. I love the way they look on the table!
Water bottle labels to add even more monkey fun to the party!
As you know, I am a big fan of apothecary jars and as always they look fantastic on a table with candy inside. Strawberry Tootsie Rolls and Ghirardelli chocolates covered with coordinating wrappers fill the jars for guests to enjoy throughout the party.
Here the adorable birthday boy is wearing a custom shirt that Molly ordered from the Bowdacious Baby Shop on Etsy.
You can't have a sock monkey themed party without having a stuffed sock monkey!
Brayden is wearing his birthday hat made by yours truly and is loving his smash cake that his mom made special just for him! He is too cute!
What an amazing and super fun party! Thank you so much, Molly, for sharing these wonderful photos!
Happy Birthday, Brayden!

{Busy Bee} Owl Cupcake Toppers by The Celebration Girl
Marcela from The Celebration Girl recently informed me that she used my owl design from my Owl Party Collection as inspiration for her fondant cupcake toppers. Well let me tell you I was thrilled and oh so flattered that Marcela thought my owl design was cute enough to replicate! As you can see from the image above, the result was adorable! Even more exciting is that she created a tutorial for her readers to learn how to create this owl as well as two other very cute owls. I encourage you to check out her blog, she is full of so many great party ideas!
Thank you, Marcela, for sharing your wonderful tutorial!

{Party Bee} Jake's 1st Birthday Party
The wait is finally over and the photographs of Jake's 1st birthday party came back from K.L. Images! They are absolutely adorable and allow me to remember all of the wonderful memories we made with our family and friends that day. The Anchors Away Collection looked so festive and colorful and worked so well for the holiday weekend!
Here I am wearing my coordinating nautical dress along with Jake in his t-shirt that I decorated with a "1" and a crab applique that I purchased from the etsy shop, Ella Ba' Dellas Handmade Appliques.
Cupcakes decorated with paper cupcake toppers and candy anchors, crabs, and lobsters.
Jake's smash cake was made with love by his godmother...it looks very cute! I loved how she included the party printable (it is edible!) on top.
You can't have a nautical themed party without having Swedish Fish!
The mini candy wrappers looked great around the Ghirardelli chocolate squares!
Mom's Killer Cakes and Cookies did an amazing job with Jake's custom cake pops!
I had a blast making these crab and lobster sugar cookies. They looked so great on the table and looked even better when guests ate them!
I wanted everyone to see how Jake has changed so much (and so quickly) over the past 12 months, so I created a banner that featured one picture for every month since he was born. It is amazing to see how they grow and develop in their first year of life!
To thank the guests for coming and celebrating with us, I created a table of party favors. Beach pails with fun toys inside were made for the children. Decorated water bottles with packets of Hawaiian Punch flavoring were created for all the guests to enjoy.
The birthday boy wasn't so fond of cake time....but he managed to make a very tiny dent in his smash cake.
It was such a happy and special day! A big thanks to all that helped make Jake's birthday so wonderful and very memorable! Printables and Styling: The Sugar Bee Bungalow
