{Party Bee} Let's Get Corny this Halloween!

Every Halloween I love to pick a theme to decorate my dessert table around. This year I thought it was time that we get a little corny and I went absolutely candy corn crazy! Not only did I create a printable party collection, but I also got crafty and got my bake on!

I used a candy corn color palette of white, orange, and yellow, but I wanted to add black to the mix because it is of course Halloween, and I thought it needed some contrast. This definitely turned out to be a bright and colorful dessert table!
My centerpieces were a combination of mason jars and pumpkins spray painted to resemble candy corns. They definitely catch your eye and add a pop of that candy corn color! Each place setting was comprised of a placemat, candy corn mask (that I stumbled upon at Michael's Craft Store), and a wood candy corn painting activity (that I found at Target in the dollar section). Not only did each place setting function as party favors, but they also added to the table decor!
As I tried to figure out what exactly I wanted to put into the festive mason jars, my daughter and I stumbled upon a sweet treat in a candy store. They were selling these giant marshmallows dipped in white chocolate and covered in colorful sprinkles. My daughters eyes lit up and right then I knew that is what I was going to make to fill my mason jars! But of course, my marshmallow pops would be made using white, orange, yellow, and black sprinkles to coordinate with the table scheme.
Water bottles wrapped in coordinating printable labels is always a must. They work as both simple and inexpensive decor, but also as a way to help wash down all the sweet treats!
When planning a party, one of the first places to go look for supplies is the dollar store! You never know what great things you will find. During my visit I was able to get small tubs of candy corn cotton candy. You have no idea how excited my kids were for these. Cotton candy and candy corn are probably two of my family's favorite things...and this combines them both into one treat!
I always love to make decorate sugar cookies for my tables. This year I decided to give little candy corns a make-over and dress them up in their very own costumes. I created a Franken Corn, Dracula Corn, Kitty Corn, Mummy Corn, Mr. Corn, and my daughter's favorite, a Uni Corn.
Chocolate covered Oreos are a fun addition to my party tables, and this year I wanted to keep the design simple. So I chose to make them using the candy corn color palette and top them with an actual candy corn. They are simply sweet!
I love the way pennant banners look for parties. They are just a fun and festive way to add to the party theme.
Going candy corn crazy was such a fun and easy theme and the perfect way to liven up my dessert table this year! It is time to Get Corny! Hope you all have a Happy Halloween!

{Sugar Bee} Getting Corny for Halloween!

We are getting corny here in this house as we prepare for a candy corn themed Halloween and I have created the cutest cookies to add to the mix of fun decorations and sweet treats!

Inspired by the amazing cookier, Sarah's Cookie Jar, and her adorable set of candy corn cookies from last year, I knew these cookies would be the perfect touch to my candy corn party decor and I just had to incorporate a similar set into my Halloween dessert table and offer them to my customers as well.

It was so difficult to narrow down the costumes to adorn these little candy corns, but after a few hours I decided to offer an assorted set of 6 cookies. This set is comprised of a Kitty Corn, Mummy Corn, Franken Corn, Dracula Corn, Mr. Corn, and a Uni Corn.
Regardless of whether you love candy corn or not, everyone will love these costumed cuties and I am positive that both kids and adults will find these candy corns to be both bewitching and delicious!

{Sugar Bee} Game Time Cookies for Team Rivers

It is game time and today Team Rivers will be having a ball celebrating three All-Star birthdays! Cruz, Rogue, and Hudson will be kicking it with all of their friends and family, and will be scoring some delicious sports themed treats!

When I was thinking of ideas for this birthday theme, it was definitely a challenge to try and incorporate all three sports for three different children. But ultimately, the team mom (and referee) chose a set that would identify a sport for each child and a design that would represent the team as a whole.

The birthday boy, Cruz, is celebrating his first birthday this year and his mom wanted this momentous occasion to be a touchdown, so he was given football as his sport. Because I love to personalize birthday sets, I used my number one cookie cutter to create the ball for his sport and then I designed a coordinating jersey with his name and age.

Rogue, the most adorable birthday girl, is celebrating her second birthday this year and to kick up the fun, she was given soccer as her sport. So to keep unity and cohesion for the set, I designed a number two cookie to look like a soccer ball and then personalized a jersey with her name and age on it.

Finally, the eldest birthday boy and MVP, Hudson, is celebrating his fifth birthday and in order to make this year's special day a slam dunk, he was given basketball as his sport. Thus, similarly to his siblings, I created a number five cookie to represent his age and decorated it to look like a basketball. Then he also got a coordinating jersey with his name and age on it.

Because I thought it was important to have a cookie to reflect all three children as part of a whole team, I created a hat with the letter "R" on it for "Team Rivers". I think that this really helped bring the entire set together!
Wishing Cruz, Rogue, and Hudson a very happy birthday! I know you will be kicking up the fun and your party will be a total slam dunk and touchdown!

{Sugar Bee} May the Sweets be With Avery on his 3rd Birthday

3 years ago in a galaxy far far away, a little boy named Avery was born. To celebrate this special day, Avery has joined the dark side and will have a blast at his party with his family and friends. Little does he know, the dark side not only has cake, but today they will also have cookies!

Thanks to Avery's mom, I got to join the dark side for a little while to create cookies fit for Darth Vader, Avery, and their troop! I had so much fun designing cookies for this party and it was so difficult to choose which ones to create, but ultimately Avery's mom felt the force was strong with these 3 cookies. First chosen was the letter "A" cookie with the light sabers that represents the battle between the light and dark side. Second, I created a number 3 space cookie decorated with tie fighter jets and the birthday boy's name. Last but not least, we had to have Avery's favorite character and villain!
I loved creating this set and I hope the birthday boy loves them even more!
Happy birthday, Avery! May the sweets be with you!
