I am packing up my bags (and these cookies) and headed to the windy city to celebrate a bride and groom and their upcoming nuptials. Two lovebirds will be honored by their family and friends at a beautiful wedding shower that will be filled with so much love...and cookies!
I wanted to surprise the couple with sweet treats that would not only be a delicious dessert at the party, but also serve as part of the decorations. The rustic design and blue color scheme make up the look and feel of the event, so I wanted to the cookies to have the same aesthetic.
There were two designs that I knew I really wanted to create for this set. The first design was a diamond engagement ring decorated with flowers in a couple different hues of blue. This allowed me to throw in a little bit of gold for that touch of bling and really highlights the bride. The second design was a pretty wedding cake patterned with a subtle pearlized lace pattern that featured the same pretty flowers as the ring to keep the set unified.
I knew I wanted to incorporate something that would personalize the set for the couple and added that really rustic feel. So I came up with a heart that was decorated to look like wood planks and added the letter "B" to the center to feature the initial of their last name. To complete the design, I added little rosettes to add that pretty touch that also keeps the set cohesive.
The light blue ampersand was a fun addition that I have been dying to do for a while now and it allowed me to incorporate the "Mr. and Mrs." that is featured in the shower decor.
Lastly, I wanted to add a mason jar to the set because it is a staple in rustic style events. However this mason jar is patterned with a pretty pearlized roses and says "love" and features their upcoming wedding date.
I am so happy that I was able to create cookies for this special day and
I look forward to sharing in the celebration of the happy couple.
Congratulations to the soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs.! Wishing you both a a
lifetime of love and happiness!

{Sugar Bee} Baby In Bloom Cupcakes
A baby is in full bloom and the mama-to-be is being celebrated today with an elegant baby shower filled with beautiful blossoms. I absolutely love girly themes, particularly ones that feature pretty flowers, so naturally I was so excited when asked to create treats for the special day!
Congratulations to the mama-to-be! Wishing you a wonderful day as you celebrate the arrival of your bundle of joy!
To keep with the floral theme, I created cupcakes that were topped with
pink fondant flowers and chocolate leaves. I didn't want each cupcake to
be identical because the variation of flowers made for a more interesting
arrangement, but also allowed the cupcakes to be part of the
table decor as little bouquets either spread throughout or grouped all together.
Congratulations to the mama-to-be! Wishing you a wonderful day as you celebrate the arrival of your bundle of joy!

{Sugar Bee} The "Coolest" Cookies for Madison's 4th Birthday
A sweet little girl I know is celebrating her 4th birthday with a Frozen themed party this weekend and I am so thrilled that I get to take part in her celebration with this sugar cookie set that is just "snow" cute! When Madison's mama asked me to make some cookies for her party I was very excited! I mean, who doesn't love Frozen? I know I have heard my daughter sing the soundtrack over and over again....and who am I kidding, I sang along right beside her!
With this particular set Madison's mom and I wanted to use the number 4 as the primary shape, but have different designs that would represent the different characters. So of course the two main designs are of the princesses....they are the most popular characters after all! I created the fours to resemble the princesses dresses. Ana's dress consists of a black bodice and royal blue skirt with some green decorative work at the neckline, thus I fashioned the cookie to look similar. Elsa's dress is a couple shades of light blue and has shimmery sparkles and snowflakes all throughout. So the cookie that I designed has just that! The third design that was requested was of Olaf....who doesn't love this cutie?! I knew it would be very similar to the Elsa design, but I wanted to make his cookie a little different. So I used a different shade of blue and patterned it with silver snowflakes. I added a little "snow" to the cookie using some sprinkles. Finally I created Olaf's head on the cookie...I normally don't do characters, but for Madison, I made an exception.
I am pretty sure Olaf would agree that some cookies are worth melting for....and I hope Madison feels the same about her birthday treats! Happy birthday sweet girl, hope you have the "coolest" day filled with so much fun, laughter, and lots of warm hugs!

{Sugar Bee} Father's Day Cookies for Flippin' Awesome Dads!
Father's Day is in less than a week and this year I wanted to create a BBQ set that was perfect for those flippin' awesome dads who love and care for their families and just so happen to also be masters at the grill!
The boxed sets that I created this year consist of a very large hamburger that has "Happy Father's Day" written across the meat patty, a box of French Fries with a super fun mustache face, and a grill spatula that has "Flippin' Awesome Dad" written on the tag. How could these cookies not put a smile on a dad's face?!
Here's to a very happy Father's Day to those backyard BBQ dads who are the kings of the grill!
