As an Arizonian, I thought it would be fitting to come up with a collection that was someone indicative of the southwest...so I came up with a set that was filled with hearts, lips, and lovable cacti! Because really, what's a better way to say Happy Valentine's Day than with cute cacti cookies!
When I was designing these, I wanted to create a festive holiday color scheme to mesh with the desert plants. So I used a palette that is comprised of different hues of green, pops of red and white, with small accents of gold. I patterned the gold hearts on the saguaro cactus to reinforce the lovely feeling of Valentine's Day, which also resembles the heart cookies with their red and gold sprinkles. In addition, I created the lips cookie to resemble the lips on the potted female. I love how these cookies work well as a set, but they also break up into single gifts, or mini sets so nicely!
These cookies are "looking sharp" and are ready for Valentine's Day. I hope that everyone is as "stuck on" these cookies as I am!

{Sugar Bee} Galentine's Day Sugar Cookies
At first glance, these cookies look just like cute girly sugar cookies, but let me tell you that these are much more! These cookies are for the gal pals who want to celebrate the ladies in their lives whom they love. Because Valentine's Day isn't just for the spouses and significant others....no, no, no, Galentine's day is specifically for the ladies to come together and enjoy a day of fun, silliness, and girl power with their besties without testes!
So when I decided upon the designs, I knew that the cookies alone wouldn't necessarily read "Galentine's Day". Therefore, I created little tags that were packaged with each individually wrapped cookie.
"Fries before Guys" is the caption for this adorable box of french fries! And let me say I do love my Friench fries!
"Tacos before Vatos" any day....because tacos are just about the best food ever! And they go great with a large margarita!
"Chicks before Pricks" is this little cuties' caption. And what a better way for Arizona ladies to say girls rule!
Galentine's Day is definitely a light-hearted and funny way for both married and single ladies to celebrate the gal pals in their lives. So don't forget to wish all your ladies a Happy Galentine's Day!

{Sugar Bee} All-Star Cookies for Valentine's Day
This year I had such a difficult time deciding on cookie designs for Valentine's Day. There are just so many design ideas to choose from! However, I knew that this was definitely the year to get my game face on and create some cookies that would be fun for both big and little athletes! So I chose to do some fun sports balls, but these aren't your ordinary balls, they are cute heart shaped balls...perfect for both boys AND girls!
My All-Star Valentine's Sugar Cookie Collection is comprised of three different heart shaped sports balls; baseballs, footballs, and basketballs. I really loved the small dot pattern that I used on the football and basketball replicating the texture on those balls. However, my favorite are the baseballs! I can't get enough of the red hearts that make up the stitching on the ball, and the shading around the outside of the hearts give that antique or worn feel....so many hearts for these!
I hope the recipients of these All-Star cookies have a ball eating these sweet treats this Valentine's Day!

{Sugar Bee} Vampirina Cookies for Emery's 4th Birthday
This past Fall I made some Vampirina themed cookies for my niece's daughter's birthday party. Well shortly after I posted the cookies, my friend messaged me saying that her sweet daughter would love them because she is also a Vampirina fan! So of course when Emery's birthday rolled around, I had to make some Vampirina themed cookies!
Though the set I created was only comprised of two designs, they were filled with great details! The number 4 cookie I created using a pretty purple color, patterned with a pearlized spider web, and detailed with a little bat. But the best part of these cookies is the personalization with the birthday girl's name! Of course the set wouldn't be the same for Emery without the Vampirina cookies. This plaque cookie is patterned with small gray bats and features Vampirina's face. Definitely a cookie that the birthday girl will go batty over!
This set was a labor of love and I am so happy with how they turned out. I hope the birthday girl has a fang-tastic day! Happy Birthday, Emery!

{Sugar Bee} Frozen Cookies For Reese's 4th Birthday
Some cookies are worth melting for...and these are definitely those cookies! I recently had the pleasure of making cookies for a little girl named Reese who is turning 4. When Reese's mama ordered Frozen themed cookies, I just knew that snowflakes, snow, and Elsa would be my main design inspiration.
The first design I created was the number four cookie. This cookie helped personalize the set with the birthday girl's age and name. Of course I wanted to keep with the frozen theme so I airbrushed silver snowflakes and added chunks of snow using sprinkles.
Because the birthday girl's favorite color is purple, I wanted to incorporate the color into the set, so I created snowflake cookies in a pretty shimmery purple.
To add a bit of Elsa to the set, I created Elsa's bodice using a heart shaped cookie and her crown on a plaque shaped cookie with silver snowflakes airbrushed to the surface. These two cookies really completed the set and emphasized the Frozen theme.
I hope the birthday girl loves these cookies as much as I loved creating them! Happy birthday, Reese! Wishing you a day full of warm hugs!

{Sugar Bee} Siren Season 2 Sugar Cookies
The new year was off to a great start for me at The Sugar Bee Bungalow as I was given an exciting order to complete! My brother, who is a talented screenwriter in Hollywood, asked me to create cookies to celebrate the premiere of the show, Siren's, second season. If you haven't seen this show, it airs on Freeform and it is a must watch! The first season can be streamed online and be prepared to get sucked into a full-on binge watching fest. The good news is that with only 10 episodes in the first season, you won't have much trouble finishing the episodes in time for the second season which premieres on January 24th, the bad news....it ends making you want to see more! Thankfully, the second season is only a few weeks away!
If you know my work, you know that I typically create cookies that are light, colorful, and very cutesy. Well, let me just say, Siren, isn't your typical mermaid show with a funny anthropomorphic crab and cute fish. So I found it quite a challenge to suppress the super cutesy and take on a more sophisticated and elegant approach. But after a little brainstorming and sketching, I came up with a set that I thought captured a more serious side to mermaids, without losing the lightheartedness.
My clamshell cookie was one of my favorites as I created the design to look like rays of light under the ocean with a fin popping out the top. And of course having the name of the show written across the water really completed the design nicely.
I do love a good mermaid tail, so the second cookie I designed I used a plaque shape in which I patterned to look like the scales of a mermaid tail and then added a silhouette of the show's number one mermaid, Ryn's tail.
Last but not least, I wanted to highlight and celebrate that this is the show's second season, so I created a number 2 that I patterned with mermaid scales and then added some underwater elements such as bubbles and seaweed, and completed the design with "Season Two".
Overall I am so pleased with the set and I am even more excited to celebrate Siren's second season! Set your televisions to watch on January 24th on Freeform.

{Sugar Bee} An Arizona Christmas Cacti Sugar Cookie Collection
Just when I thought I was finished designing my Christmas cookie collections, I saw a photo by the amazing Flour Box Bakery which sparked inspiration that led to me creating An Arizona Christmas Cacti Sugar Cookie Collection! This adorable and prickly collection is comprised of four different cacti adorned with the most festive decorations. The saguaro is of course created to look like Santa Claus....or Santa Cactus as I like to call him. The potted cactus with a bow is Santa's better half, Mrs. Cactus. Then I have another potted cactus that has Santa's belt and is wrapped in lights and topped with a red flower. Last, I have a ball cactus that has a couple flowers and some holly. I love how adorable they look as a set, but each cookie is just as cute on its own! This red and green collection is the perfect treat to wish loved ones a Merry Cactmus, Feliz Navidad, to celebrate Christmas the Arizona way!
