{Party Bee} A Spooktacular Monster Mash Bash!

As I have said in the past, Halloween is my favorite holiday and this year I just couldn't resist throwing a party for my kids. So my husband and I decided to throw a fun kid-friendly costume party and invite family and friends to eat, drink, and be scary (but not too scary of course)!

Because I wanted to focus this party on the kids and their enjoyment, I created a fun printable collection that combined all of the notable Halloween monsters but in a happy and child friendly way. In addition to the printables, I also created ghoulish goodies that I wanted both kids and adults to enjoy.... they ended up both sweet and bootiful!
One of my favorite creations was the monster cake. It added a lovely pop of color to the table as well as a playful take on monsters. Perfect for the little ones!
Of course the most popular goodies of the table was the vampire sugar cookies! I guess nobody could resist their toothy smiles?
A couple weeks prior to the party, I received an email from Hallmark and featured in the email were the most adorable edible mice. Once I saw that I knew they had to placed around the table. They were so easy too!
Cupcakes are always a cute and simple treat to add to dessert tables. I found these Wilton candy mummies at Target and thought they would be perfect on top of cupcakes with chocolate frosting and sprinkled with crushed Oreos to look like dirt.
Wilton has so many wonderful chocolate cookie molds, but their Halloween molds of eyeballs and brains just has to be one of my favorites. They are equally creepy and cute!
I wanted to do a craft activity with the kids but didn't want to pay for several kits from the store....so with a little bit of imagination I created houses for the kids to decorate into eerie Haunted Houses! All you need are boxes and construction paper (both of which I just happened to have laying around my house) and with the some stickers from the dollar store, the kids were able to decorate the houses. An activity that is both fun AND mess free!  As you can see the kids really got into decorating their haunted houses!
And what does a haunted house need....a monster to live inside of it of course! So each child was able to "adopt a monster" and it could live inside their newly haunted house.
The monster pennant banner is probably my favorite of the printable collection....it definitely caught my kids attention and they just loved looking at the friendly monsters.

Halloween parties are fun because not only can you focus on a particular theme, but most of the decorations you need are probably in your storage bins already! It is wonderful to be able to use existing holiday decor....but who am I kidding...shopping for some new spooky items is also a lot of fun!
Party City always has plenty of Halloween decorations to choose from and this year I found soda bottle and wine bottle labels to place over the brand labels. Such a cute addition to what would just be regular beverage bottles!
This Monster Mash Bash was definitely a Graveyard Smash!

Hope you and your little ones have a SPOOKTACULAR Halloween!
Happy Haunting!
