{Sugar Bee} A Sweet Gift Idea

The holidays can definitely be stressful, not to mention a little on the pricey side. But what can you do when you have so many people to shop for? Well I have a little gift idea that is cute and super simple and won't break the bank. Hot cocoa filled ornaments! These make the perfect gifts for teachers, neighbors, coworkers, and anyone that you want to know you have thought of them this holiday season.

Ingredients:

- Clear plastic ornament
- Hot cocoa packets
- Mini chocolate chips
- Crushed peppermint candies (if you can't find the crushed baking candies, just put peppermint candies in your food processor or in a bag and crush them with your rolling pin....works like a charm!)
- Marshmallow bits (you can usually find these in the aisle next to the hot cocoa packets)

Directions:
First thoroughly wash the plastic ornament and let fully dry. Then using a funnel, pour in a packet of the hot cocoa mix. Next add a handful of mini chocolate chips. Follow that with some crushed peppermint candies. Finally top it with the marshmallow bits. Put the ornament top back on and adorn it with a ribbon and one of my printable tags. There you have it, a wonderful gift for someone special!

These make perfect pairings with a holiday mug and a candy cane too!

Happy Holidays!

{Sugar Bee} Sending Warm Wishes and Holiday Treats

It is that time of year again! Time for making little holiday gifts for those who are special to my family and those who we like to wish a Merry Christmas! I always like to make little packages of sweet treats decorated with my printables (this year I used my Red-Nosed Reindeer Collection) for my son's teachers and teacher aids to thank them for being so wonderful teaching my son and taking care of him while he is at school.
This year I created snowman sugar cookies and reindeer chocolate covered Oreos.
I also added a non-edible gift to the mix by placing an EOS lip balm on my reindeer printable to resemble Rudolph's red nose! It is just a fun way to give a little gift  to say "Merry Kissmas" that is also super practical!
Tucked inside are also a couple Ghirardelli squares wrapped with my mini chocolate wrappers!

I hope they enjoy opening these fun goodies as much as I enjoyed making them!

{Sugar Bee} Happy Scarecrow Cookies to Wish you a Very Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving!

Last Thanksgiving I fell in love with the Scarecrow cookies created by The Sweet Adventures of Sugarbelle, so for a whole year I planned to create Thanksgiving cookies inspired by her design. Though, they aren't as beautiful as her creations (stencils aren't as easy as I thought that they would be), I thought that they turned out very cute...and most importantly my kids LOVED them!

From these scarecrows and my family to yours, we would like to wish you a very blessed and Happy Thanksgiving!

{Party Bee} Giving Thanks this Thanksgiving!

I don't know about you, but I feel like Thanksgiving kind of gets the shaft when it comes to the holiday season. We start with Halloween (which is my ultimate favorite) and after that is over, all of the stores are already stocking up on Christmas decorations and candy. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing all of the Christmas stuff on the shelves, but Thanksgiving needs to have more of a presence as it is a day where we get to show our thanks for everything with which we have been so very blessed. Therefore this Thanksgiving I set up a little table for my family decorated with my "Give Thanks" printable collection.
I created a banner that says "Give Thanks" that I love so much because the photos that rest above the banner display two important people that I am so thankful to have in my life and I am grateful that my husband I were blessed with two healthy babies. The banner also serves as a great reminder, especially when I am in a bad mood!
Water bottle labels adorned with straws with coordinating flags are always an easy and pretty accessory to a table. Your guests can also take one as a souvenir if they like!
After Halloween, all the candy goes on sale, including candy corn! This was the perfect opportunity to purchase the Fall assortment with all of the little pumpkins. They look adorable and don't cost much at all!
One of my favorite items is the combination of the place cards and candy bar wrappers. This personalizes the table and allows you to give a gift that lets your family member or guest know that you are thankful for them! The nutritional facts also reminds them of how much they are loved and blessed, etc!

Remember this Thanksgiving to take the time to "Give Thanks" and show your gratitude for all that you have.

{Queen Bee} BOO!

There is less than one week to go until Halloween, which means there is still time to have a little more fun before my favorite month comes to an end! So I have designed a "We've Been Booed" sign for my readers to use to "BOO" their neighbor, family, and friends! For those of you who haven't heard of this activity, it is a fun way to spread the spirit of Halloween by secretly surprising someone with treats and goodies. All you have to do is print out the sign and place it with a special treat at the doorstep of your neighbor, family, or friend, and then ring the doorbell and run or hide so they don't see you when they open up their door and see their special surprise. Guessing who left the goodies is part of the fun! Not only will you have fun, but your kids will have a blast as well!!

HAPPY HAUNTING!

{Party Bee} A Spooktacular Monster Mash Bash!

As I have said in the past, Halloween is my favorite holiday and this year I just couldn't resist throwing a party for my kids. So my husband and I decided to throw a fun kid-friendly costume party and invite family and friends to eat, drink, and be scary (but not too scary of course)!

Because I wanted to focus this party on the kids and their enjoyment, I created a fun printable collection that combined all of the notable Halloween monsters but in a happy and child friendly way. In addition to the printables, I also created ghoulish goodies that I wanted both kids and adults to enjoy.... they ended up both sweet and bootiful!
One of my favorite creations was the monster cake. It added a lovely pop of color to the table as well as a playful take on monsters. Perfect for the little ones!
Of course the most popular goodies of the table was the vampire sugar cookies! I guess nobody could resist their toothy smiles?
A couple weeks prior to the party, I received an email from Hallmark and featured in the email were the most adorable edible mice. Once I saw that I knew they had to placed around the table. They were so easy too!
Cupcakes are always a cute and simple treat to add to dessert tables. I found these Wilton candy mummies at Target and thought they would be perfect on top of cupcakes with chocolate frosting and sprinkled with crushed Oreos to look like dirt.
Wilton has so many wonderful chocolate cookie molds, but their Halloween molds of eyeballs and brains just has to be one of my favorites. They are equally creepy and cute!
I wanted to do a craft activity with the kids but didn't want to pay for several kits from the store....so with a little bit of imagination I created houses for the kids to decorate into eerie Haunted Houses! All you need are boxes and construction paper (both of which I just happened to have laying around my house) and with the some stickers from the dollar store, the kids were able to decorate the houses. An activity that is both fun AND mess free!  As you can see the kids really got into decorating their haunted houses!
And what does a haunted house need....a monster to live inside of it of course! So each child was able to "adopt a monster" and it could live inside their newly haunted house.
The monster pennant banner is probably my favorite of the printable collection....it definitely caught my kids attention and they just loved looking at the friendly monsters.

Halloween parties are fun because not only can you focus on a particular theme, but most of the decorations you need are probably in your storage bins already! It is wonderful to be able to use existing holiday decor....but who am I kidding...shopping for some new spooky items is also a lot of fun!
Party City always has plenty of Halloween decorations to choose from and this year I found soda bottle and wine bottle labels to place over the brand labels. Such a cute addition to what would just be regular beverage bottles!
This Monster Mash Bash was definitely a Graveyard Smash!

Hope you and your little ones have a SPOOKTACULAR Halloween!
Happy Haunting!

{Party Bee} Client Feature: Marcus is 3! Hot Air Balloon Party

I recently had the pleasure of designing a party collection for my cousin's adorable son, Marcus, who just turned 3. My cousin told me that Marcus loves hot air balloons so she wanted that to be the theme of his party. So I created a printable collection that blew him up, up and away! Lucky for me, my cousin shared a few pictures from his party!

My cousin created a lovely dessert table that was full of cupcakes with toppers, water bottles with labels, juice boxes with wrappers, and coordinating party hats. I also love all of the clouds she made that were hung on the walls!
She created a table for all the kids to sit, eat, and play. I especially loved the placemats against the polka dot tablecloth!

But I think my favorite part of the party was the hot air balloon photo booth she created! How adorable is that! Here is the birthday boy posing in the hot air balloon. Just too cute!

Happy Birthday, Marcus!

{Party Bee} Gabby's Criminology Graduation Party!

This past week my good friend, Gabby, graduated from ASU with a degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology. I am so proud of her and all her hard work over the past five years and when she asked me to help her with her graduation party I excitedly said YES! Her ideas for a criminology themed party were just too fun to resist and the outcome was pretty awesome.
It was important to use a criminology theme but still incorporate ASU and graduation into theme. So we added touches of maroon and graduation hat graphics. But we mostly went all out with the criminology theme using "caution" tape as the main item of decor.
Gabby's good friend made her delicious tiered cake and we topped it off with a 2014 cake topper.
It was a lot of fun coming up with names for the items on the dessert table, though I did have a little help from Spaceships and Laser Beams (they have great ideas on how to throw a detective party!). A couple of the treats we served were "double agent donuts" and "sinfully sweet chocolate covered Oreos". Those were nabbed quickly!
I also created "crime scene cookies" using the letter G for Gabby with graduation caps! I thought these turned out really cute.
Evidence bags were created to use as take home bags for the guests to use to package their treats.
Dove chocolates and Hershey Bliss chocolates were the perfect combination to represent ASU colors and they were delicious too!
Water bottle labels and soda bottle labels were created to make the "secret agent H20" and "Sweet Justice Juice". I love how the juice added a little extra pop of color!
The centerpieces were a lot of fun to make and they were super easy! I just used a glass vase and a little caution tape and the tables were beautifully decorated! We also incorporated photos of the graduate to personalize the decor.
We wanted to add some more fun to the party by having all of the guests fill out a fingerprint message card. Here they got "booked and finger printed"...well they just had to leave one fingerprint and a message for the graduate.
I think one of the most fun aspects of the party was the mugshot photo booth! All of the guests were able to dress up like smooth criminals and take some hilarious photos. Here we are with the graduate!
The mugshot sign was a great prop as it added the party information to the photo!
Gabby even had a signature drink called, "Rookie Blue", which was a Blue Curacao Margarita. Mason jars are just the cutest glasses to use and make adorable party favors too if you don't want to keep them to reuse again!
What a great party! Not only was it a lot of fun to create but it was even more fun to attend!
Happy graduation Gabby! We are so proud of you!
