{Sugar Bee} Coconut Macaroon Cupcakes

This year for our Easter celebration I wanted to make some yummy cupcakes, but I wanted to create something in addition to than the traditional carrot cake. After a little bit of brainstorming I remembered the egg nest cookie I created a number of years ago and thought this could be fun but in cupcake form. Thus, I decided upon a coconut macaroon cupcake. This delicious treat is made of a coconut cake topped with a layer of chocolate ganache, frosted with a coconut whipped buttercream, and then sprinkled with toasted coconut. They were so cute just decorated with coconut, but I thought they needed to be a little more festive, therefore for an added Easter decoration, I placed a Cadbury chocolate egg on the very top! They turned out just as I had envisioned. Wishing you and your family an "egg-cellent" Easter!
 Happy Easter!

{Sugar Bee} Cookies for my Favorite Peeps

A few years ago I created sugar cookies to look like Peeps and I just couldn't help myself and had to create them again because they are just so darn cute! I know there is a debate on whether Peeps are delicious or disgusting, but no matter how you feel about the candy, everybody will love this cookie version of the treat! They make a perfect gift to give to all your favorite Peeps!

{Sugar Bee} Cookies for a Hoppy Easter

Easter is only a few days a way and if you are like me, you haven't even started shopping for your kids baskets. But if you are also like me, you have checked Easter treats off your to-do list! This year I created a sweet little set that I themed around the Easter bunny and her eggs. The collection is comprised of a cute bunny, a filled Easter basket, a carrot, and a decorated egg. I am so happy with how they turned out and I think they are just "egg-celent"!
These little cuties will definitely make for a Hoppy Easter!

{Sugar Bee} Pretty in Pink and Purple Cupcakes

Cupcakes are always a little sweeter when they are pink and purple! And wouldn't you know, I received an order of cupcakes for a special little girl turning 2 years old and her favorite colors are of course pink and purple. So when it was time to create the cupcakes, I knew everything had to have her favorite colors, including the cupcake itself. These little beauties are vanilla cupcakes colored in pink and purple for a fun surprise when bitten into, and frosted with a pink vanilla buttercream. For added sparkle, I sprinkled the cupcakes with rose gold glitter dust and topped them with a purple chocolate number "2" brushed with a gold luster dust. These are cupcakes will surely dazzle and delight!

Happy 2nd Birthday Sophie!

{Sugar Bee} Having a Ball with Soccer Cupcakes

In addition to soccer cookies for Beckam's soccer themed birthday party, his mama also ordered some cupcakes to go along with the theme! These were so much fun to create! I made red velvet cupcakes and decorated them with grass piped buttercream and topped them with mini white chocolate covered Oreo soccer balls. Each ball was hand colored to create the black and white soccer ball pattern. The end result was perfect! I hope the birthday boy and his friends have a ball eating these cupcakes!
Happy 6th Birthday Beckam!

{Sugar Bee} Cookies that will Bend it Like Beckam

A special little boy turned 6 this week and I had the pleasure of creating some sugar cookies for his soccer themed birthday party. This little soccer star not only loves the game, but he is so good at it too....which is appropriate since his name is BECKAM! So I created soccer ball and jersey cookies inspired by the birthday boy's soccer gear! To personalize the cookies even more, I added his name and his age to the jerseys. These cookies will be "kickin' it" at the party and I hope Beckam loves them as much as I loved making them!
Happy 6th Birthday Beckam!

{Sugar Bee} St. Patrick's Day Shamrock Shake Cupcakes

Today is St. Patrick's Day and though I may not be Irish, my husband and kids are so I wanted to create something special to show our St. Patty's Day spirit and to give a little nod to my family's Irish heritage. So this year, we are celebrating with some Shamrock Shake Cupcakes! These green cuties are vanilla mint cupcakes topped with a whipped cream cheese frosting and decorated with a mini chocolate covered Oreo shamrock. These are our family's pot of gold! May the luck of the Irish be with you!

{Sugar Bee} Beer Steins and Bowie Cookies for a Fun and Unique Birthday Party

When I received a custom sugar cookie order for a joint birthday party for a pretty cool and awesome mama and her baby boy, I was totally "hopped up" and "beery" excited! Ok, I know, enough with the puns, but let me just say that this is probably the most fun and unique birthday party ever! This mama shares a birth month with her little one, so she planned a super fun and hip party for the two of them.

Because mama is a beer drinker and a fan of breweries, she wanted a beer stein cookie. However, not just your typical beer stein, but a cute one. So I created a beer stein with a subtle gold polka dot pattern (because mama likes polka dots) that kinda resembles the bubbles inside the beer glass, and added a cute girly face with red lips and eyelashes, and completed the look with a red bow. To top off the beer stein, I created fun bubbles overflowing from the glass and highlighted them with a bit of pearl luster dust for some added sparkle.

For the little man turning one, I wanted to really highlight his age by created a number one cookie. The first birthday is a super special one, so I knew these cookies needed to be just as special! So I added the same polka dot pattern to try and unify the two cookies a little bit, and then decorated the cookie with a David Bowie lightening bolt. Why a Bowie lightening bolt, you ask? Well mom and dad are such huge David Bowie fans, that they named their little one after him! So this cookie not only signifies their love for the musician, but of course the love for their little boy who is hitting his first big milestone!

I have to say I really loved making these cookies and I think they are just unBEERlievable! Wishing both mama and baby Bowie a very Happy Birthday!

{Sugar Bee} Under the Sea Sugar Cookies

When my daughter told me she wanted mermaid cupcakes for her 6th birthday, I thought what a perfect opportunity to make under the sea sugar cookies to coordinate with the cupcakes! What was even better was that she had no idea that I wanted to make them for her so they were a complete surprise! The look on her face when she saw her seahorse, jellyfish, starfish, and sand dollar cookies was absolutely priceless! She was so excited for today to come and now that it is here, she will be digging into these cookies that she has been anxiously waiting to eat!
Happy birthday my sweet girl! I hope your day is full of mermaid kisses and starfish wishes!

{Sugar Bee} Little Mermaid Tail Cupcakes

Today is a very special day in my household...it is my daughter's birthday! We have been so blessed with such a wonderful daughter and are so excited to celebrate another year with our Ava. Tonight's festivities consist of being with family, having a nice dinner, and of course eating cupcakes!

Well let me tell you that my girl loves everything pink and purple, and very girly- princesses in particular! Her top princesses  (in this order) consist of Ariel, Rapunzel, and Belle. So of course, when I asked her what kind of cupcakes she wanted, she told me MERMAID! Well I couldn't have been more thrilled because I have been dying to make these! So voila, mama created mermaid tail cupcakes!

These cupcakes are a vanilla cake but colored with pink and blue food coloring and swirled so that they create a mixture of pink, purple, and blue....such a fun surprise when you take a bite out of it! They are topped with a vanilla buttercream and sprinkled with a very pretty sprinkle mix to add a little glitz. But the part that my daughter loves the most is the white chocolate mermaid tails and shells!

This face says it all! My sweet and happy birthday girl!
Happy birthday my baby girl, mama loves you to the moon and back, to infinity and beyond, forever and ever!

{Sugar Bee} Celebrating a Big Day with Pink Champagne Cupcakes

When I found out that my friend and colleague was getting married in a small ceremony over the weekend, another colleague and I knew we had to do something to celebrate such a momentous occasion. So we decided to surprise her with a little dessert table, and I of course wanted to create the cupcakes. I thought it was the perfect time to pop open the bubbly and create some cupcakes that screamed celebration! And what says celebration better than pink champagne?! These pink champagne cupcakes topped with a pretty white flower and lightly sprinkled with edible pearls were the perfect treats to toast the new bride and her husband!
So let's raise our cupcakes and say CHEERS! Wishing the happy couple a beautiful marriage filled with love and laughter!
