{Sugar Bee} A First Down for Jameson

A little boy will be kicking off his "First Down" tomorrow and I am sure all of his family and friends will have a ball celebrating this huge milestone!

I was very excited when Jameson's mom reached out to place an order for this fun football themed first birthday party! I had so many ideas, it was difficult to narrow it down, but ultimately I came down to a set that was the perfect fit for this special occasion!
When I began thinking about designs, I knew I wanted to incorporate classic designs that would anchor the collection. So I started off the set with footballs, since that is a big part of the party theme. Next, I created a stadium by creating a field and then added sprinkles to represent the spectators. However, I thought I would give it a little extra touch by adding the football play marks.

After the classic designs, I wanted to focus on personalizing cookies for the birthday boy. I started with a number 1 cookie and patterned it with the football field lines and numbers and added the birthday boy's name across the field. I also wanted to incorporate a football uniform by creating a jersey and helmet, but instead of including a team name, I used the birthday boy's name and initial. And of course his jersey number was a "1"! Finally, I created a pennant banner that reads "a First Down" to emphasize the overall theme of the party.
I hope this set scores a touchdown with the birthday boy, his family, and all his guests! Happy 1st birthday Jameson!

{Sugar Bee} Princess Jasmine Birthday Sugar Cookies

Today a little girl will be inviting all her friends for a royal celebration of her 5th birthday! To go along with her Jasmine themed birthday party, I created cookies that are fit for a princess!

I was so excited when I got this order to make Princess Jasmine themed sugar cookies. I have always loved the animated Aladdin movie and my kids and I were so entertained by the live animation this year. So when I was told that a little girl was going to have a Jasmine party, I was absolutely thrilled!
I wanted to use the same color scheme that was being used for the party decorations, so the collection is comprised of purples, turquoise blue, and gold. When designing this set of cookies, I knew I had to include Jasmine without doing a full-on character cookie due to licensing. Therefore, my first cookie design was a side view silhouette of Jasmine with an intricate medallion pattern in gold and turquoise blue. My second design was inspired by the genie's gold lamp in the movie, but my version included flowers to make it extra pretty and perfect for a princess. Lastly, I wanted to have a cookie that highlighted the birthday girls age, but I gave it a little twist by dressing the number 5 as Jasmine. To do this, I used Jasmine's iconic headband and long black hair to represent the princess. I absolutely love the way these cookies look together and I hope the birthday girl loves them even more!

Wishing the birthday girl a magical day filled with family, friends, lots of love and of course yummy sweet treats!

{Sugar Bee} How to Train Your Dragon Sugar Cookies for Max's 6th Birthday

My sweet little nephew, Max, is calling all of his little vikings and dragon riders today to celebrate his 6th birthday with a How to Train Your Dragon themed birthday party! In addition to the fun festivities that I am sure my sister-in-law has planned, she reached out to me to create some party printables and cute cookies to go along with the theme.

I hadn't watched the movie before I started designing the cookies and party decorations, so initially I was a bit at a loss for ideas. But after a little bit of research and watching all of the movies (which were super cute by the way), I was able to come up with the perfect set!

One of the main characters is of course the dragon, so I knew that I wanted to add a dragon to the mix. However, I always think it is important to personalize birthday sets with the age of the birthday child and their name. So I took out my number six cutter and just looked at it until inspiration hit. I saw that a dragon could fit well on this shape because the tail can curve with the shape of the six and the face can be placed right at the front. This number really was the perfect form for a dragon!

The second design I came up with after I noticed that all the people in the movie were vikings! They all had their viking hats on, so I thought I would create a hat for Max. I wanted it to look cool, so I added a bit of silver airbrushing to give it that metal look. Also, because I like to personalize cookies with the birthday child's name, I added Max to the front of the hat in a vibrant red that coordinated with the dragon's tail. Now the birthday boy can be a viking too!

I really loved how this set turned out and I hope the birthday boy loves them as well!

Happy birthday, Max! I hope you have a legendary birthday and a roaring good time celebrating your special day with family and friends!
